If I am remembering correctly, this site was the first where I installed WordPress and went “live” with it. At the time, I didn’t know too much about WordPress themes, so I browsed around the many, many available through the built-in theme browser looking for one I liked.

There were two problems. First, there were an awful lot of cool themes to choose from, so it was a difficult choice. I wasn’t sure how I felt about the site looking like a billion other blog sites, either, so using a theme that looked cool probably meant that there would be no shortage of other sites already using it.

Eventually, I installed a few that I liked and decided to customize one of them. I figured once I knew what I was doing, I’d just go ahead and create an altogether new theme that was all mine. Well, I did the first half of that… I customized a theme, which means mostly that I changed some colors around here and there, but I never came back and created that unique theme for this site.

I started using WordPress for a variety of sites and got quite into creating custom themes and plugins, but for some reason I never came back to this site.  Most likely the back of my brain said, “it’s not at all bad looking with the theme it’s got, so why don’t we play World of Warcraft for awhile instead?”

Well I finally got around to it.  As I write this, I’m still tweaking a few things here and there, but I think it’s basically in place.
